Kindergarten - 5th Grade

Creating a strong academic, spiritual, physical and emotional foundation for students is the goal of our curriculum in K-5th grade. Daily class instruction includes mathematics, language arts (reading, grammar, spelling), social studies, science and religion, and many of these subjects integrate computer skills into daily lessons. Weekly curriculum includes art, music, PE, Spanish, dedicated instruction in computer technology, as well as library time. In addition, certain grade levels receive instruction in Family Life and Sacramental preparation. Our K-5th grade students, as well as our 6th-8th grade students, are provided with:

• Accelerated Reader Program supported by STAR assessments
• Writer's Workshop using Six Traits of Writing
  MathFacts in a Flash supported by Renaissance Learning Program assessments
• Hands-on approach to learning using manipulative and activities that engage the learner
• Daily integration of technology with Smart Boards, desktop computers and hand-held computer tablets
• Cooperative learning groups, such as leveled reading groups and peer tutoring
• Daily devotions, prayers and religion class with grade-specific curriculum
• Multi-disciplinary teaching approach to accommodate each student's learning style
• Center-based learning to ensure that all students' needs are met
