Mrs. Mitchell -
kmitchell@holyfamilyca.org I’ve been teaching preschool/TK at Holy Family School for 20
years; it is a great place to be! I graduated from Sacramento State with a
Bachelor’s in Child Development way back when. In my spare time I love to scrap-book, read,
sit by the pool, travel to Lake Tahoe and Disneyland of course. I have been
married to my husband, Mike for 28 years and we have 3 grown children all of which graduated from Holy Family School.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from CSU East Bay and a Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from CSU Bakersfield. I completed the Multiple Subject CLAD Credential Program through Chapman University's extension campus.
Having attended parochial school myself, I understand the value of a Catholic education and the impact that moral and character development can have on a student. It is my pleasure to be part of your child's learning experience and I look forward to a wonderful year. Please feel free to contact me at any time. I know that by working together, we can help your child succeed.

After teaching for seventeen years in the public school system, I feel blessed to return to my beginning in the Catholic school system. I began my new career as the 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Language Arts Teacher at Immaculate Conception. I have been the 4th Grade Teacher at S. Peter and John Paul 11 Schools. I was the 5th Grade Teacher at St. Joseph School. Most recently, I was the JH teacher for Religion & Social Studies at St. Philomene School. This is my 3rd year teaching 4th Grade at Holy Family. I was privileged to attend St. Anne’s School in San Bernardino, CA and Holy Family, St. Mel’s and Jesuit here in the Sacramento area. I believe that teachers should work as partners with parents to educate and support students.

Nearly twenty years ago, I enrolled my three children here at Holy Family Catholic School. I began my journey as a preschool parent and as a witness to the close community; I knew HFCS was the place not only for my children, but for me as well. In 2002, I was hired as a 4th grade teacher, where I spent 9 years before transitioning to Junior High. Since then, I have taught Earth, Life, and Physical Science, Math, and Social Studies. The last sixteen years at HFCS have been exceptionally rewarding and I am blessed to call HFCS home. I am a graduate of CSUS and possess a BS in Forensic Science and Biochemistry. I love to travel, see new places, and enjoy time with family and friends.

I come from a long line of Holy Family Catholic School graduates, having graduated in 1986. I then attended Loretto High School, followed by CSU Sacramento, where I majored in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I have been a Teacher’s Aide at HFCS for 8 years and really enjoy working with the children and watching them grow. I am married and have two daughters. The oldest graduated in 2018 and now attends Christian Brothers High School. The youngest is currently in 5th grade.
