THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEETS THE SECOND AND FOURTH MONDAY
OF EVERY MONTH IN THE SCHOOL CONFERENCE ROOM AT 6 PM. 
Tuition Assistance: The Holy Family Alumni Association recognizes that some families may desire a Catholic School education for their children, but may think it is beyond their means. As a result, we are offering tuition assistance, for those families who qualify, on a first come, first served basis. It’s Official

Over the past two years, a number of alumni students, parents and friends of Holy Family School (HFS) have gathered to form the HFS Alumni Association. A mission statement was created, a 501(c)(3) application was submitted to state and federal governments to officially establish the Association as a non-profit organization, officers were elected, Board of Directors identified and initial goals and objectives established.

 

Our Mission

To preserve and honor the heritage, traditions and values of

Holy Family Catholic School by supporting Catholic Education, strengthening

The student experience and establishing a link between

Students, families, staff and alumni.

 

The Holy Family Alumni Association has identified the following goals & objectives:

  1. Expand the HFS Alumni Association membership
  2. Grow HFS student population through collaborative marketing with HFS & Parish Ministries
  3. Offer scholarship opportunities for students
  4. Provide academic enrichment support
  5. Ensure the strength and vitality of Catholic Education and Holy Family School

The Holy Family Alumni Association Elected Officers:

Chuck Kava, President

Member of the first Holy Family School graduating class of 1963. Father of three graduates, Michelle Spencer - 1985; Sarah McDowell - 1995; and, Lauren Kava - 1999. Grandfather of Katelyn Spencer - 2018; Melina Spencer - 2021; Jaylen McDowell - 2022; and, Graeme McDowell - 2025. Chuck has served Holy Family as Choir Director/Musician, RCIA Catechist, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Chuck currently teaches Jr. High Social Studies at Holy Family School.

 

Joann Lewis, Vice-President

As a mother of three Holy Family School graduates (Russel Lewis ’98, Anna Lewis-Cowan ’00, and Joseph Lewis ’04), Joann introduced Fine Arts to HFS teaching musical theatre classes to grades 5-8. Joann also served as Board of Trustee, Parent-Teach Guild President, Auction Chair and was instrumental in creating the HFS Development Office. Joann is an active Holy Family Parish member and champion for Catholic education.

 

Linda Denly, Recording Secretary

After enrolling her son Trevor Moureaux as the first Holy Family Pre-School student in 1990, Linda began her volunteer journey at Holy Family. Serving on the Parish Council, the 1st Legacy Campaign Committee to Build the Community Center, HFS Board of Trustee, Parent-Teacher Guild President, Auction Co-Chair, Development Co-Chair and numerous fundraising committees, Linda continues her passion for Catholic education and specifically Holy Family School and community.

 

Sarah Kava-McDowel - Treasurer

Sarah is a second generation graduate of Holy Family Catholic School, graduating in 1995. Sarah was active in many organizations as a student and continues her involvement now, as current Parent Club Vice President and participating in many fundraising activities. She has two sons, the oldest in 5th grade and the youngest in 3rd grade. Promoting Catholic education and maintaining the legacy of Holy Family Catholic School in the community and her family are of the utmost importance to Sarah.
