The PBVM Parent Guild is organized to assist the pastor and the principal in every way possible to provide for the needs of the students and the classrooms. All parents are members of the Parent Guild who give yearly service points:
- to promote active involvement in their children’s education
- to build community
- to raise funds
Funds raised by the Parent Guild are used to sponsor spiritual, educational, and cultural activities for students, parents, and faculty; for equipment, materials, and books; and for other supplies which are in the school budget and which will aid the educational work of the school.
Parents build community as they work together on fundraising and earn their service points. While working for the general good, friendships are developed and school pride is the result.
We are proud of and grateful for our parents’ participation. This support helps our school to be affordable and enjoyable for all and truly creates community.
Crab Feed | 1st Saturday of every March (most years)
This event is our biggest fundraiser of the school year.
Donations are accepted for the live & silent auctions from January - February before the event!
Make sure to get your reservations in as soon as they open up in January.
PIP (Parents In Participation)
A minimum of 30 service points is required from each family for each PIP year. Parents have between March 2018 and February 2019 to complete their points. Families in Preschool only are required to complete a minimum of 20 service points. You MUST keep track of your points and enter them on SchoolSpeak. The PIP Coordinator will be responsible for signing-off on accepted points.
Parent Participation is a key ingredient in creating a successful school--financially, socially and spiritually--for our children...let's make this school year a phenomenal one!!
The service point breakdown is as follows:
-
Each Family Preschool-8th are required to:
Work the Crab Feed [March]
-
For Families in K-8th: The other PIP points must come from events throughout the school year. These events include but are not limited to the following:
Scrip Sales
Basketball Tournaments / Volleyball Games / Little Dribbler Games / Coaching
Mixed Bag Fundraiser
Ladies Luncheon / PBVM Dinner
Chaperone Field Trips / Work in Classroom / Campus Improvement Days / etc.
It is important that families support the school's fundraising events since they are critical to the financial success of the school. Though parents often support their child’s class/team through classroom assistance and coaching, it is equally important to support the school-wide fundraising events.
-
Each family is also required to donate an item/service to the Crab Feed
For those families who go above and beyond the standard participation commitment, PPG hosts a "PIP Plus Dinner & Game Night" in April as both a "thank you" and a way for us to come together to enjoy each other's company and have an evening to relax!
Scrip
To place an order, or if you have any questions, please contact the school office. They can direct you to our Scrip Coordinator.
The PPG Scrip program is an ongoing fundraiser for PBVM. It is a fundraiser that does not cost any extra money to access. Scrip is a fun, “painless” fundraising vehicle used for everyday necessities. Scrip is used at face value at local stores, on-line, and at businesses across the United States. A percentage of each purchase is returned to the school. A list of participating merchants is available in the school office and on the left of the screen. Scrip is offered for sale everyday during school hours and after all weekend Masses.
There are four ways to earn Scrip donations for PBVM:
Card Scrip | ScripNow! | E-Scrip | Reloadable Cards
Card Scrip — consists of gift cards or gift certificates purchased by PBVM Parent Guild (PPG) from the business vendors at a discounted rate. Families buy Scrip at face value to use for purchases or gifts. The school gets the difference (anywhere from 1% to 50%).
ScripNow!™ — means you don’t have to purchase any plastic Scrip cards. ScripNow!™ is the quickest way to purchase scrip for you or a friend. You can order for yourself or send an eGift in seconds for various retailers. ScripNow! can be delivered and used in minutes simply by using PrestoPay, or pay by check and the items will be released by your coordinator. Shopping has never been easier for everyone on your list with eGift from ScripNow!, a new program that lets you send electronic gift cards on-demand. Just go to www.ShopWithScrip.comand create an account. Please e-mail Diana Jimenez for our PBVM enrollment code.
Reloadable Cards— What cards can I reload?
A reload icon appears on each page of the ShopWithScrip.com shopping environment. Click on the icon or choose “Reload Brands” under “Browse by Category”.
E-Scrip — Another way families can participate in the PBVM Parent Guild Scrip Program is by signing up to use eScrip at www.escrip.com, (our PBVM group number is 139242456). Though e-scrip families can register their credit, debit, and ATM cards online. Participating merchants (e-Scrip vendors) will make contributions through e-Scrip to PBVM Parent Guild based on our families’ usage.
T.R.I.P— Tuition Reduction Incentive Program
Families who earn for the school over $250.00 in profit from scrip will benefit in receiving 40% of the additional profit applied to their tuition the following year. For families whose final child is graduating, the profit share accumulated will be applied to any outstanding balance first, then to the Catholic high school the student will attend, or a refund check can be issued. Families also have the option of returning their “credits” to the school as a donation.
In all four cases—whether you choose to use Card Scrip, ScripNow!™, Reloadable Cards or E-Scrip—records will be sent to PBVM Parent Guild and tracked by one of the Scrip Coordinators. Reports will be calculated on a regular basis, and a copy of the school families’ Scrip purchases will be distributed so that parents can view their progress, or view your progress on-line at any time by creating and using an account at www.ShopWithScrip.com. The tallying of Scrip purchases for the school year typically begins March 1 through the end of February of the next year.
