Extension Program

There is supervision after school in the parking lot until 3:15 P.M. If a student must be at school after 3:15 P.M., he or she must be enrolled in Extension. The teacher supervising dismissal will escort students not picked up by 3:15 P.M. to the Extension room. Parents will be charged the per student hourly rate if their child is not contracted in Extension. If a student has a reason to remain at school, such as tutoring, math club, sports practice, or other supervised activity, his or her siblings may not remain at school after 3:15 P.M. unless they are part of the Extension Program. All students who will be attending Extension after these supervised activities MUST first inform the Extension Director before attending the activities. No parking lot supervision is provided after 3:15 P.M.; therefore, parents must be prompt when picking up their child(ren) after a supervised activity.

Extension operates on regular school days and specified P/D days. Services are not available on holidays, vacations, or summer months.

The program is limited to those students who attend PBVM. Every student attending Extension must have a parent, guardian, or authorized person's signature on file to sign the student out. Any changes must be in writing, signed, and dated. NO EXCEPTIONS! Emergency cards MUST be kept current.

Extension offers morning and after school activities for students enrolled at PBVM with caring supervision by adult group leaders in a Christian environment.

Extension hours are from 6:30-7:40 A.M. and from 3:15-6:00 P.M.. Breakfast is served from 6:30 - 7:30 A.M..

Any students on campus before 7:40 A.M. or after 3:15 P.M. who are not in other specific activities must use Extension.

MINIMUM DAYS

Extention will be open on minimum days for all children enrolled in the program. Minimum days are included in monthly rates. All children must bring lunches on minimum days since the hot lunch program is not available on these days.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

For the safety of your children, all children must be signed IN/OUT by a parent or authorized adult each time they use Extension. Children will be released to authorized adults only (those listed on the emergency form). Parents must not take children from the playground or other areas without notifying the Extension staff and signing the children out. The Extension staff is instructed to ask for picture identification from any parent or adult they do not recognize. For the protection of all the children, these rules will be strictly enforced.

Students who attend Extension after school must check in immediately after school. Students arriving late are required to have a written excuse from their classroom teachers.

DROP IN

When possible, Extension should be notified by 3:00 P.M. on the day the student is in attendance that the student will be in Extension. In accordance with Diocesan Policy, students must leave campus if not signed in to Extension.
