Fifth Grade

Fifth grade is taught by Mrs. Hinschberger and Mrs. Jaime.  They are a great team ....

I feel very blessed to have been called to serve at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I look forward to a great year growing with all of you!

Virtue Program

As we learn more about Christ’s life and the call for each one of us to be transformed into His image, we will be focusing on specific virtues in the fifth grade. We will be “Running the Race” with Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, with the saints as our models of fidelity and love. Each one of us are called to share eternal happiness with God in Heaven, and we know those who have gone before us are interceding on our behalf – cheering us on in our race. Each student will have a crown of their own to place on a running track on the wall. As I see students practicing the virtue we are focusing on, I will move their crown further down the track as we race towards the finish line, which is ultimately Heaven. We will use Scripture verses from St. Paul’s letters as inspirations throughout the year, and saints who exemplify the virtue we are focusing on will be posted along our track. As we strive to become saints ourselves, we will look towards Him for our inspiration and guidance, saying with St. Paul:

“Brothers and sisters:
Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to
us and persevere in running the race that lies before us
while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus,
the leader and perfecter of faith.”
-Hebrews 12:1-2
